Versioning guidelines

Holy version numbers batman! It's okay, Repose uses semantic versioning.

Release 6.1.0.3 and after:

Given a version number MAJOR.MINOR.FEATURE.PATCH, we increment the:

  1. MAJOR version when we make incompatible configuration changes.
  2. MINOR version when we make internal contract changes that may affect those who have customized repose beyond using the xml configuration.
  3. FEATURE version when we add new features in a fully backwards compatible way.
  4. PATCH version when we make backwards-compatible bug fixes.

Release 6.0.2 and prior:

Given a version number MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, we increment the:

  1. MAJOR version when we make incompatible configuration changes.
  2. MINOR version when we add functionality in a backwards-compatible manner.
  3. PATCH version when we make backwards-compatible bug fixes.
